eV to MeV Converter

Convert electronvolt to megaelectronvolt instantly. 1 eV = 0.000001 MeV, worked steps and a full reference table.

Formula
MeV = eV × 0.000001

How to use it

  • Type the value in electronvolt — the result updates as you type.
  • Use Swap to flip the direction, or change either dropdown to convert between any two units.
  • Click the result to copy it. The URL updates too, so you can bookmark or share the exact conversion.

Examples

1 eV0.000001 MeV
5 eV0.000005 MeV
10 eV0.00001 MeV
100 eV0.0001 MeV

One electronvolt equals 1.0000e-6 megaelectronvolts (MeV). To convert electronvolts to megaelectronvolts, multiply by 1.0000e-6; to go back the other way, multiply by 1000000 instead.

The converter above does it as you type and shows the working underneath, so you can check the arithmetic rather than take the number on trust.

What electronvolts and megaelectronvolts actually measure

Electronvolt (eV) — An electron-volt is the energy one electron gains crossing one volt — 1.602 × 10⁻¹⁹ joules. Atomic and particle physics, and semiconductor band gaps.

Megaelectronvolt (MeV) — A megaelectron-volt is a million electron-volts. Nuclear physics and radiation therapy.

eVMeV
1 eV1.0000e-6 MeV
2 eV2.0000e-6 MeV
5 eV5.0000e-6 MeV
10 eV1.0000e-5 MeV
25 eV2.5000e-5 MeV
50 eV5.0000e-5 MeV
100 eV1.0000e-4 MeV

How to convert electronvolts to megaelectronvolts by hand

Multiply the number of electronvolts by 1.0000e-6.

For example, 25 eV × 1.0000e-6 = 2.5000e-5 MeV.

Going the other way, divide by 1.0000e-6 — or multiply by 1000000, which is the same thing and easier to do in your head.

Everything runs in your browser

There is no server involved in the calculation. The numbers you type never leave your device, nothing is logged, and the page keeps working with no connection once it has loaded. That is not a marketing line — it is simply how the tool is built, because a calculation like this has no reason to touch a network.

Questions people ask

How many MeV are in 1 eV?

1 eV equals exactly 0.000001 MeV. Multiply any value in electronvolt by 0.000001 to get megaelectronvolt.

Is anything uploaded to a server?

No. The whole calculation happens in your browser. Nothing is sent anywhere, and the page keeps working offline once loaded.

Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged or shared.
