Error correction and size
Higher error correction lets a code keep working even if part of it is damaged, dirty or obscured, but it also packs the pattern more densely for the same data, which can make small codes harder to scan. For a code that will only ever be viewed on a screen, low error correction and a smaller pattern is fine; for anything printed and handled, a higher level is worth the denser pattern.
PNG or SVG
SVG is vector and stays sharp at any print size, so it's the right choice for posters, packaging or anything printed larger than a business card. PNG is a fixed-resolution raster image, fine for screens, slides and social posts but liable to blur if scaled up significantly larger than its original size.
