This covers two distinct date questions in one tool: how far apart are two dates, and what date is a certain number of days before or after another one. They're related but genuinely different tasks, so they're kept as separate tabs.

Days between two dates

Set a start and end date and get the gap broken down as days, weeks, months and years, plus a working-days count that excludes Saturdays and Sundays. This is the version people reach for to count down to a deadline or event, to work out how long a project or contract has run, or to check whether something falls within a notice period measured in business days rather than calendar days.

Add or subtract from a date

The other direction: start from a known date and shift it forward or back by a number of days, weeks or months — 'what date is 90 days from now', or 'what date was 6 weeks before this invoice was issued'. Useful for calculating due dates, expiry dates, and return-by or renewal dates from a fixed anchor point.

Why business days aren't just weekdays minus weekends

The business-day count here excludes Saturday and Sunday, which covers the standard case, but it doesn't know about public holidays specific to any one country or region — a genuinely 'working days excluding holidays' figure for legal or contractual deadlines needs the relevant local holiday calendar checked separately.
