How to Save Energy
Heating is where household energy goes. Here is what insulation, draught-proofing and heating controls actually return, with typical payback periods.
Questions people ask
What temperature should I set the thermostat to?
Around 18 to 20 °C for living areas is the usual recommendation. Each degree lower saves roughly 5 to 10% of heating energy, which is the single biggest behavioural lever available.
Is a smart thermostat worth it?
If it stops you heating an empty house, yes. If your schedule is already regular and the timer is set properly, it mostly duplicates what you have.

Yes, after the first visit. The service worker caches it, so the guide stays available with no connection.
