Text Diff Checker
Compare two blocks of text and see exactly what was added, removed or changed, line by line, highlighted in colour.
How to use it
- Paste the original on the left and the new version on the right.
- Added lines are green, removed lines are red.
- Nothing is uploaded — the comparison runs in your browser.
Compares two blocks of text line by line and highlights exactly what changed — additions, deletions and edits — rather than making you eyeball two documents side by side and hope nothing was missed.
What gets highlighted
Lines present only in the new version show as additions, in green. Lines present only in the original show as removals, in red. A line that changed shows as a removal of the old line paired with an addition of the new one, since the comparison works line by line rather than trying to guess a partial in-line edit.
What this is used for
- Comparing two drafts of a document to see exactly what an editor changed.
- Checking two versions of a contract, policy or terms-of-service page for what actually moved.
- Comparing configuration files or plain-text code snippets between versions.
- Verifying that a 'find and replace' or bulk edit did what was intended and nothing else.
Runs entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is uploaded, logged or shared.
