The moment you're counting more than one category, a single counter forces a bad choice: count one thing at a time and go round twice, or try to hold two running totals in your head. Both are how counts go wrong.

Several counters running at once solve it. Each has its own name, its own total, and its own step, and switching between them takes one tap.

Where several counters actually matter

Each one is genuinely independent

Switching counters doesn't pause or reset anything — every total sits where you left it, and they're all saved separately in the browser. Resetting one leaves the others alone; there's a separate reset-all when you genuinely want to start the whole session again.

Steps are per-counter too, which is what makes the cash-counting case work: a counter stepping in fifties alongside one stepping in fives, both running at the same time.

Naming them properly

It's worth naming each counter before you start rather than after. A tab labelled 'Counter 3' is meaningless by the end of a long session, and there's no way to reconstruct what it was counting. The names show on the tabs and are saved with the totals.

Questions people ask

Is there a maximum number of counters?

No practical limit. Add as many as the job needs — they appear as tabs above the number.

Does resetting one counter reset them all?

No. Reset affects only the counter you're on. There's a separate reset-all button under Settings.

Can each counter count by a different amount?

Yes. The step is set per counter, so one can count in ones while another counts in fifties.
