A tap counter replaces the metal clicker you'd otherwise hold in your hand. The important part isn't the number, it's the target: if you have to look at the screen to find a button, you're not watching the thing you're counting.

So the whole middle of this one is the tap area. You can hold the phone at your side, tap with a thumb, and keep your eyes on the door, the shelf, or the water.

Counting without looking

Two things make eyes-free counting work. The first is a target big enough to hit blind — here that's most of the screen. The second is feedback that tells you the tap registered without looking, which is why the counter vibrates briefly on each tap by default and can play a short click as well.

Both are switchable under Settings. Vibration is the more useful of the two in a noisy room; sound wins when the phone is on a table rather than in your hand.

Add it to your home screen

Because everything runs in the browser and nothing is fetched while counting, this works with no connection at all once loaded. On iOS use Share then Add to Home Screen; on Android use the browser menu's Install or Add to Home Screen option. It then opens full screen from an icon like any other app, with no browser bars in the way.

Locking out mistakes

A big tap target has one downside: accidental taps in a pocket. Two things help. Set a maximum if you know the total in advance and the counter simply stops there. And if a stray tap does land, the undo key steps it back one rather than making you re-count.

Questions people ask

Does it work without an internet connection?

Yes. Once the page has loaded once, it keeps working offline — nothing is fetched while you count.

Can I use it as an app on my phone?

Yes. Add it to your home screen from the browser menu and it opens full screen from an icon, with no address bar.

Will it vibrate on every tap?

By default yes, briefly, so you know a tap registered without looking. You can turn that off under Settings.
